Interpretations of the human condition with vulnerabilities and complexities define my figurative works. Mythological characters, human hybrids, guardians and guides are underlying features that lend inspiration.
I was fortunate to have art teachers and encouragement throughout my formative years. I am predominately self taught with extensive studies within workshops, seminars and conferences with renowned ceramic sculptors. I studied at Atlanta College of Art 1975-78 academic program, focusing on painting and sculpture. The Pottery Apprenticeship Program at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center is where I began an in-dept study of ceramics.
